Mr. West and Mr. Smith have each practiced law since 1975. Both were formerly members of a larger firm, before forming West & Smith in 1997, in order to more efficiently concentrate their practice on civil litigation, including personal injury and wrongful death. The firm handles cases primarily in central and eastern North Carolina, which geographic area includes Moore County (Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Carthage, Vass), Lee County (Sanford), Scotland County (Laurinburg), Richmond County (Rockingham, Hamlet), Hoke County (Raeford), Harnett County (Dunn, Lillington), Wake County (Raleigh), Montgomery County (Troy, Biscoe) and the Sandhills; however, the firm can handles major cases statewide.
